Domaine de PIEBLANC
Domaine de Piéblanc was established in 2014 in Caromb at the foot of Mont Ventoux by Matthieu Ponson who has become a winemaker through passion and love for wine.
Now established at the foothill of the village of Gigondas in a functional, eco-friendly and gravitational wine cellar with contemporary architecture, the estate is composed of plots of vines all around the Dentelles de Montmirail: on the heights of Caromb for the AOC Ventoux, terraced vineyard in Suzette for the AOC Beaumes de Venise, close to the cellar for the AOC Gigondas on the historic land of the appellation and finally in Violès for the AOC Côtes du Rhône.
The parcels of vines mostly in altitude have been selected by the winemaker himself to produce fresh wines.
The winery produces modern wines showing off the different local grape varieties : mainly Grenache and Syrah but also Cinsault and Carignan for red and rosé wines; Viognier, Roussanne and white Grenache for white wines, all planted on different terroirs in order to bring complexity to wine.
Piéblanc has a simple vision, but one that requires a great deal of attention to execute :
“Let the grapes follow their own path : Simply accompany !”
A Conscientious work in the vineyard and in the cellar to produce wines with as few inputs as possible.
Matthieu Ponson believes in the respect of nature and environment. That’s why he has early converted the whole vineyard to organic production. After a long and consciencous work, the 2020 vintage become the first vintage certified organic.
